Savion Smith

Savion Smith was born on a US Marine Corp military base in Bethesda, MD. His love for dancing was sparked at a very young age and was thrilled to have the opportunity to begin dancing in first grade at Winding Springs Elementary under the instruction of Megan Zugelder May. He pursued his passion and healthy obsession for dance competitively at the age of 8 with Inspire Performing Arts Company. Dance has been a significant outlet for stress relief and confidence building and it has provided him with a space to fully express and share who he is as a human being. Because of all of his hard work, dedication, and the guidance of his coaches over the years, Savion has achieved many goals, including becoming Premier Mr. Starpower 23’ in Orlando, FL, Mr. Imagine 24’ in Nashville, TN, and participating in Hollywood Dance Jamz Senior Company throughout the year 23-24'. In his spare time, he enjoys connecting with friends in Charlotte and around the country, as well as making iconic Tik Tok videos. 

Not only is dance important to him, but he takes pride and makes a priority in his academic education. Savion is currently working hard in high school with the goal of attending one of his dream colleges to pursue a degree in dance. Academically, he has excelled by being a member of the Honor Society and maintaining A's and B's while consistently training in various forms of dance. Savion enjoys the opportunity of being an Inspire teaching assistant so that he can encourage younger students to achieve their goals, build confidence, and create lifelong skills that will help them succeed in the future. Savion is excited to be a student teacher again with Inspire Performing Arts Company this season and looks forward to continuing his personal growth not only as a dancer but also as an artist.
