Emily Harris
Emily Harris began her disciplined training in Arkansas under Arleen Sugano at Ballet Arkansas' partner studio, Shuffles and Ballet II. She has over 20 years of dance experience, having studied various genres including ballet, jazz, contemporary, modern, Mediterranean styles, Tanztheater, and Butoh. She has a spirit for adventure and trained abroad in Italy, Slovenia, and Germany under choreographers such as Sabine Fichter, Belinda Winkelmann, Kelvin O. Hardy, Caroline Basagni, and Edan Gorlicki. Continuing in her professional career, Emily danced with modern dance company TeeBoDans and New Creation Dance Company. In 2021, Emily moved to Charlotte and proudly became a company member of Baran Dance and Moving Spirits. She also appeared in various freelance productions under Caroline Calouche, Martha Connerton, Opera Carolina, and former Martha Graham dancer Kim Jones. Emily favors and prioritizes a mindful approach to dance teaching, and hones her students' technique to support injury prevention and optimal artistry. She is thrilled to be a part of Inspire Performing Arts Company's artistic instructional team this season!
